A Bit of Truth

I just have one simple thought to share tonight. This one goes out to all my fellow believers in Christ:

Don’t forget

that Satan is always doing everything he can to convince you that God doesn’t love you and that He isn’t good.

We often get caught up in all sorts of confusion because we let our feelings dictate our thoughts instead of taking hold of the Truth. We listen to little whispers of the enemy–which sometimes contain partial truths–and get completely turned around.

You have to play the opposite game with the enemy. Whatever he says, the opposite is true.

The truth is:

God is perfect.
God is good.
He cares about every detail of your life.
His ways are above yours.
You were made to love God, and only in doing so will you be truly satisfied. (Loving God = Obeying God)
Only in dying to yourself will you discover true life.

The truth is that submitting yourself to a Higher Power is not easy. Sacrificing your dreams, desires, and hopes to Someone Else is not easy. Choosing to obey when you don’t understand your Heavenly Father’s way is not easy.

But giving up everything to gain the treasure of knowing God is worth it. Any voice that says otherwise is lying.

Elizabeth holds to simple faith in a complex world. She values the beauty of the everyday and strives for vulnerability with other imperfect humans. She is currently pursuing her MDiv at Fuller Theological Seminary, so when she isn't busy writing academic papers, she is usually out enjoying the LA sunshine. She is constantly learning, laughing, and finding herself in awe of grace.
